In the 2018 government report, the growth of the sector in Mexico is highlighted:

“From January 2013 to June 2018, 2,897 million tons of cargo were transported by motor transport, a figure 10.8% higher than that recorded in the previous administration.”

However, the Chamber of Commerce detects several areas of opportunity for the sector, which must be worked together with the Government.

Challenges of the Transport Industry in Mexico

The transport industry in Mexico faces several challenges of different kind: high driver insecurity, low driver training (which causes road accidents), better facilities for cross-border transportation services, volatility in fuel costs, and lack of control in fuel expenditure.

The National Freight Transport Chamber detects that the direct costs rubric requires special attention, since diesel has increased 372% between 2004 and 2018, while the general inflation was only 76.8 percent.

With all this in mind, we detect the following challenges for the industry:

During 2018 the average diesel consumption in Mexico reached 334 thousand 200 barrels per day

Energy Regulatory Commission

1

Reduce the onslaught of insecurity that affect drivers and financially impact transport companies.

2

Low guarantee in the supply of diesel and the increase in fuel costs.

3

Promote means of transport with high load capacity to make the transfer of goods more efficient and safe.

4

Training operators to obtain greater economic benefits.

5

Create more environmental impact reduction strategies.

Fuel use in the Transport Industry

In the transport sector, Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel is common. It is generally used in:

1. Cargo trucks

2. Tourist transport

3. Urban transport

4. Tractor trucks

In the industry, fuel consumption represents up to 44% of its total expenses, henceforth the importance of its availability and its cost optimization.

How to optimize my energy investment in a dynamic industry as this one?

Oilfield Group Services for the Transport Industry

The Transport industry, being the cornerstone of trade between regions, movement of people throughout the country and largely the development of many communities, presents important challenges in its operation, namely: the adequate quality of fuel needed to guarantee the correct operation of the engines, to make valid the corresponding guarantee of the manufacturer; fuel consumption control at unit level and fleet level, performance maximization per kilometer per liter, the decrease of fuel-theft and having the security of a constant fuel supply. These are just some of the energy and technological challenges facing the sector.

Oilfield Group offers concrete and practical solutions to allow our clients in this sector to focus on the management and efficiency of their business, while we provide an Integral Solution that facilitates the following:

1. Delivery of imported, high-quality Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel, with the frequency required by our customers, delivered at their own facilities via our specialized logistic systems.

2. Implementation of Storage Tanks that allow the improvement of their strategic fuel reserves.

3. Volumetric controls that allow them to have total control in the supply chain and fuel consumption, speeding up decision-making and reducing the vulnerability of the supply process in order to reduce diminishment and theft.
